Black Sabbath: The Tribute Album That Led To Their Comeback

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the Black Sabbath: The Tribute Album, former Concrete employer and now Beasley Media Managing Editor Brian Ives published a wonderful feature on the LP.  The project was the brainchild of executive producer Bob Chiappardi and was released on a Concrete imprint label through Columbia records. It entered the Billboard chart in the Top 40, selling over 60,000 records the first week and went on to sell over 500,000 in the US. The record also earned gold record status in several territories including the US, received a Grammy nomination, and was listed as one the top three tribute records released that year.  Bob shares some fun facts about the release and marketing of the project in the article.  Enjoy!
